{"title":"The Gardens Poker Classic","slug":"the-gardens-poker-classic","description":"\u003cp\u003e\u003cfont face=\"Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif\"\u003e\u003cspan style=\"font-size:18px\"\u003e\u003cb\u003eSaturday, September 30th, 2017\u003c/b\u003e\u003c/span\u003e\u003c/font\u003e\u003c/p\u003e\r\n\r\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan style=\"font-size:14px;\"\u003e\u003cspan style=\"font-family:Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;\"\u003eEvent #15 was a Player Card Promo tournament that allowed patrons to receive half off the total buy-in as long as they had five hours of play on their card (See structure for details).\u0026nbsp; The Gardens Casino runs a Player Card Promo tournament every Saturday, as a part of Poker Classic schedule, the guarantee was raised to $10,000, which is double the weekly guarantee of $5,000.\u0026nbsp;\u003cbr /\u003e\r\n\u0026nbsp;\u003cbr /\u003e\r\nThe second and last event of the Poker Classic was Event #16, a MONSTER STACK Finale!\u0026nbsp; The tournament had a $250 buy-in with NO rebuys, NO add-ons, only one re-entry, a starting stack of 50,000 and a very unique structure.\u0026nbsp; Instead of the normal structure for 1-day events where blinds increase approximately every 20 minutes or so, the \u0026ldquo;Finale\u0026rdquo; structure had 1-hour levels for the first 8 levels and then 30 minutes thereafter.\u0026nbsp; The monster starting stack and that the blinds doubled at each level, using one level from every standard three levels of play under a more traditional structure. This was a popular structure for many of our players, once said, \u0026ldquo;I saw the structure on the casino\u0026rsquo;s website and that\u0026rsquo;s why I\u0026rsquo;m here. It didn\u0026rsquo;t disappoint with a massive field of 668 players, the pool totaled $153,420. Local tournament player Phuo \u0026ldquo;Paul\u0026rdquo; Nguyen entered second in chips with just over 3.4 million. Tom Zanot ended up knocking out eight players at the final table and went heads up with Jim Pittman. Zanot had a 5 to 1 chip lead as the two had an epic battle, filled with hero calls and all-in crowd pleasers as there were plenty of spectators adding to the excitement.\u003c/p\u003e\r\n\r\n\u003cp\u003eSecond place was set to receive $120,000 as first place was $200,600. Eventually, Pittman drew within a few thousand behind Zanot at which point the two decided to make a deal. TJ Shepherd took home first place honors as the chip leader in our Seniors Event.\r\n\r\nEvent #6, a six-handed Pot Limit Omaha tournament featuring the Action Clock by Protection Poker. Our high stakes players received 50,000 starting chips with a total of 38 runners, making the prize pool $19,000. The tournament came down to a heads-up battle between Hoang Pham and Allan Le.
